Lady Soma Renewal Serum — Review/Giveaway (11/22)

I am not by any means vain, or overly concerned with my appearance, but skin care is something about which I am passionate. Ever since I was in my twenties, I have used moisturizers and sunscreen on my face religiously. I don’t ever go outside without sunscreen on my face and neck. One of the leading causes of wrinkles in women is exposure to UV rays (ie sunshine and tanning beds). Getting older is a drag, and I don’t want to hasten the process by letting my skin get all wrinkled and gross!

Lady Soma Renewal Serum

So I was very happy when I learned I was going to be able to test out a new skin care product, namely a facial serum. Lady Soma Renewal Serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, grape extract and many other plant extracts to nurture and repair your skin. This serum is meant to help with skin discoloration and photoaging. It is a very concentrated liquid which is applied to the face and neck every morning and evening on freshly cleansed skin. The manufacturers of Lady Soma Renewal Serum also add that the hyaluronic acid helps to promote the production and of hydration of skin cells.

I followed directions to the letter, and have used the serum everyday since I received it. I apply a small amount (literally about the size of a pea) to my face and neck every morning and night after I wash my face. I was not sure what would happen to my skin, but I am all for adding these natural nutrients to nourish my dermal layers!

I am thrilled to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by the effect of this serum. Since using it for 2 consecutive weeks, my skin seems to glow! Literally! I also feel as though my skin coloration is more even, which was another happy result of using this product. After using a facial serum for this length of time, I am sold on its benefits, and will be making it part of routine from here on in!

You too can experience the wonders of Lady Soma Renewal Serum! One of my readers will win a full-sized bottle of Lady Soma Renewal Serum. Just fill in the Rafflecopter entry to get started. Good luck!

Weight Loss Challenge: Small Victories Every Week

Here we go, it’s already week 6 (almost) on my weight loss challenge. These first few weeks have gone by quickly, and I am happy to announce that I am still sticking to my Weight Watchers Points Plus online plan. I have found that this program works well for me, it is easy for me to follow with my work schedule. I work different shifts, and so I am not able to attend Weight Watcher meetings.

With the Points Plus program, I enter every food and beverage I consume onto my personal tracker. Everything has a points value attached to it. I have a total of 28 points that I am allotted each day, and I can basically eat whatever I want as long as I don’t exceed my daily points. Each week, you are given 49 “extra” points which you can use to put towards a special occasion (like a pre-existing restaurant date, or wedding reception). Or you can spread those points across the week, giving yourself 7 freebie points each day. (that’s what I usually do)

Whenever you engage in physical activity, you receive points for that as well. For example, 10 minutes of leisure walking is one extra point. All those extra activity points can be translated into extra foods that you can eat each week. Most weeks, I accumulate about 15 extra points from activity, which allows an occasional splurge, if the mood arises.

So far, this type of program is right up my alley. The scientist/number cruncher in me likes the way that the setup is very regimented. The rule averse side of me likes that no one is telling me what to eat! You learn quickly that eating the rich, calorie dense but nutrient poor foods leads to a deficit of points at the end of the day, and an empty stomach. BOOO.

I have been losing on average about 2 pounds each week. I was about 11.8 pounds down as of yesterday, my weigh-in day. YAY! My pants are starting to feel a bit looser. My co-workers say that my face looks thinner (really?). Each additional bit of weight lost is incentive towards the final goal. In my opinion, I need to lose about 50 pounds in total. So far, 12 pounds down, 38 or so to go!

Freebie Alert! Vitanity Drink Mix

Another cool freebie for the taking! This time, the offer is available to both U.S. and Canadian residents, 18 years or older. It’s a sample packet of Vitanity Drink Mix. There are five different nutrient mixes to choose from, depending on your needs–Charge, Focus, Amplify, Resist and Soothe. The nutrient breakdown for each mix is listed, so you can get an idea of what they are putting into their product, and whether it’s appropriate for you.

After you choose your sample, you can add up to three flavors to put into the packets. Very cool! I chose Amplify with cherry and raspberry flavoring. The site says that your sample should arrive within 2-6 weeks. Check it out!
