Review/Giveaway: Potty Cover Disposable Toilet Seat Covers

Potty Cover Disposable Toilet Seat Covers

Potty Cover Disposable Toilet Seat Covers

We just came back from a road trip to Florida for Spring Break, and it was a two day drive. It was quite the drive, let me tell you! With a six and four year old, there were plenty of “Are we there yet?” questions as well as “Mommy, I have to go potty!”

Problem is, I HATE public restrooms with a passion. However, being on the road for two days meant that there was no getting around using  public washrooms. Some were passably clean, and some were horrible. I hate using less than clean facilities, espeicially hate my kids having to use them. UGH!

Upon returning home from our trip, I noticed a package that was sent to me called Potty Covers. Boy, I could have used this product before we left for our vacation!

So what is a Potty Cover? Basically it’s a waterproof cover that you put over a toilet which creates a barrier between the commode and your child. Its oversize design covers both the front and sides of the toilet, so when your child is dangling their legs and gripping the sides of it, you don’t have to worry about germs. It’s so easy to use. There are no adhesives strips to use. Literally, you just take it out of t he package, lay it down on the toilet, have your child do their bathroom business, and then throw the Potty Cover in the trash. No muss, no fuss.

The Potty Cover package is very compact and easily fits into a handbag or backpack. Each package contains 6 Potty Covers. I really love this product and have no doubt that I will be using them on our next road trip this summer.

So where can you find Potty Covers? You can purchase them online on eBay, or Amazon. You can also find Potty Covers at buybuyBABY and select BedBathandBEYOND stores. Check out Potty Covers website which features a list of retailers which carry the product.

You can win your own package of Potty Covers. Good luck!

Review/Giveaway: Lovable Labels (Can/US) (02/27)

Lovable Labels

Lovable Labels

Back when my kids were littler, and at home most of the time, life seemed a little bit simpler. I was the main presence in their lives, and as such, I could easily keep track of their toys and clothes without much difficulty. Now that they are a bit older, and my one son is in grade 1, it seems like I am constantly trying to figure out where their stuff has gone.

“Where is your water bottle?” says me.

Shrug. “I don’t know.” says my charming son.

It’s been getting really annoying, as I feel like I am basically throwing money into the trash can as he loses gloves, hats, water bottles, markers, you get the picture. Time for this mom to get organized!

Enter Lovable Labels. And not a moment too soon! I was very excited to review Lovable Labels products, as I have been getting increasingly frustrated in my attempts to keep track of my kids’ stuff.

Have you heard of Lovable Labels? This company has been around since 2003, and was started by a mother (like me!) who found the need to label her child’s possessions that were being sent to day care. She developed a label product that was durable, and could withstand washing, sun exposure, and everyday use.

Lovable Labels produces a variety of products including the sticker type labels that I received. They also make clothing labels, zipper tags, medical identification bracelets and stationery products. Their household label products can be used to help organize all aspects of your home from spice drawers to craft bins.

I received some multi-purpose labels with my son’s name on them. The colors are bright, and he was able to personalize them with boy-themed graphics. We have used them for a number of things, including:

- water bottle

- colored marker case for school

- lunch box for school

- ruler

- sippy cup

The multi-purpose labels are dishwasher and microwave safe and UV resistant. I have put my son’s sippy cup through the dishwasher and the label adhered perfectly. I like the fact that the labels include both the child’s first and last name, as there are two children in my son’s class with the same name. It just makes things easier to track down. When my younger son enters Junior Kindergarten in the fall, I will be getting him his own set of Lovable Labels, and hopefully we have better luck keeping his stuff from getting lost.

Would you like to receive a Lovable Labels pack of your own! Well, it’s your lucky day, as they have graciously offered one prize to a reader. Enter using the Giveaway Tools widget below. Good luck!

ABC Photo Share: E is for Eating

St. Clair-20121110-00281

Eating takes a back seat to SLEEPING!

It’s Friday, and that means that it’s another day for ABC Photo Share, hosted by Maple Leaf Mommy and Mom Vs. The Boys blogs.

This week the featured letter is E!

E is for EATING. With my two kids, eating is always an adventure. I am going to be making a photo book with only pictures centered around eating. You have messy faces, happy pictures, sad pictures, bored pictures, food fights, and then you have….sleeping.

My youngest son is a real character. He fights sleep like no other. He’ll insist over and over and over that he is NOT TIRED. Oh yeah, he’s a trooper. Then when sleep hits, it hits. It doesn’t matter where he is, he just falls asleep in that position. And that’s what happened here. He was eating one minute, then he put down his fork, closed his eyes, and poof, he was gone. Believe it or not, this is not the only picture we have of him sleeping at the dinner table. It’s just the most recent!!

Do you have a photo you would like to share? Share your “E” themed photo and visit Maple Leaf Mommy or Mom Vs. The Boys to link up. Happy Friday!!

Review/Giveaway: TruBaby Bubbly Baby Body & Hair Wash 02/20

TruBaby Bubbly Baby Body & Hair Wash

TruBaby Bubbly Baby Body & Hair Wash

Do your kids like bath time? My boys absolutely love having a bath, and it’s one of the more enjoyable parts of the day for me. The kids love getting lathered up, and scrubbed down using their own “kid-flavored” body washes, shampoos and sponges.

So I was thrilled to receive a bottle of TruBaby Bubbly Baby Body & Hair Wash to review. My older son was enamored with the packaging and eager to try it out.

TruBaby body and hair wash is made by a California company called TruKid. This company’s philosophy focuses on the production of sustainable, environmentally friendly personal grooming products. TruKid’s products are biodegradable, organic formulas which are designed to soothe and nurture a young child’s delicate skin.

TruKid’s products are brightly colored, and incidentally, color coded to help your child understand his/her personal grooming rituals. Blue bottles are for bathing, green for nourishing, and orange for sun protection.

As I read more about TruKid’s company philosophy, I felt very comfortable using the body and hair wash for my boys’ bath. My younger son has very sensitive skin, so I am careful not use products with harsh chemicals or fragrance.

The body and hair wash was a hit. My older son loved using it straight away, and said that he liked the smell. The fragrance was delicate, but not overpowering. The pump dispenser enables you to dispense just the right amount on a facecloth or bath sponge.

For my readers, I have a special TruKid coupon to offer! If you place a $30 or more order, you can receive a FREE Sunny Days SPF 30+ Face and Body Stick. Use coupon code: sunnymom.

Now it’s time for a giveaway!! TruKid was kind enough to giveaway a full-sized bottle of the same product that I used. Good luck!

D is for Drowsy

D is for Drowsy

Once again it’s Friday, and that means it is time for ABC Photo Share! This week the featured letter is D.

My photo features my kids, and boy are they DROWSY! This photograph was taken a couple years ago. My husband and I had a rare date night, and my sister-in-law was watching the boys. They were watching a movie, and just fell asleep in that position. Absolutely angelic!

I have a lot of pictures of my kids sleeping in strange locations, but this one is my favorite.

Do you have a photograph you would like to share? Link up with the event’s hosts at Maple Leaf Mommy and Mom Vs. The Boys. Happy Friday!

Product Review: Python Printable Christmas Party Games

Printable Christmas Party Games

Tis the season for many things–shopping, baking, and of course….entertaining! Have you attended any festive get-togethers yet? I recall a holiday party a few years ago, that was — unfortunately — a bit dull. My fellow party-goers were lamenting the lack of , well, FUN at this get-together. Everyone was eating, and drinking, as if by routine. But no one seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

Remember when you were a kid, and going to a party used to be FUN? (And incidentally, fun without any alcohol to fuel the fire!)

Well, I came across a product that promises to infuse some fun back into your Christmas get-together. The Python Christmas Printable Game Mega-Pack has over 60 games and activities to entertain kids and adults alike. There are a variety of games to add some enjoyment to your children’s party or family Christmas gathering. I was impressed by the sheer number of things available to print.

For example, have you ever had the tedious job of getting your child to write out all their Christmas thank you notes to Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles etc? I remember my Mom making me do this very thing, and it was not my idea of fun. Well, the Printables Mega-Pack has an adorable thank-you note template–four notes per page! All your child has to do is fill out the name of the relative they are sending it to, and print their name on the bottom line. Quick, easy and fun!

Another fun activity to keep the kids occupied at the family Christmas gathering– Santa Claus Spot the Difference. Simply print out the sheet which has 2 images of Mr. Claus himself, and the kids have to find the differences in the two pictures. Or how about for the adults a “Charlie Brown Christmas Trivia Game”. Really, the number of activities in this pack is amazing, and the variety is awesome. You can use a few of these games at your next gathering, and offer some small gifts as prizes. That way, your guests won’t be fumbling for their car keys the minute after dessert is served. And best of all, you look like the hostess with the absolute MOSTEST because of the attention you paid to having fun at the Christmas bash!

So how do you get all these cool printable Christmas games? You can head over to the Python Printable Christmas Party Games website where you can purchase the complete package of over 60 games for only $19.95. The games are then all mailed to you, and are downloaded in a PDF format. Once you buy them, you get to keep them permanently. It’s great entertainment value if you are a busy Christmas hostess. All the designs are professionally done, and the artwork is first rate, so you will look like a perfect party-giving champion at your next family or office get-together.

Review/Giveaway: The Nutcracker Music Game for Kids (Can/US 12/15)

Here we are, and it’s already December! It’s time for the holidays, and all the traditions that come with it. One of my favorite pieces of classical music is synonymous with the holidays, and that is The Nutcracker, a ballet written by Piotyr Iliych Tchaikovsky. Even people who say they don’t know anything about classical music are often familiar with the music of this famous ballet. Throughout the world, productions of The Nutcracker are staged in theaters during the month of December.

Personally, I adore The Nutcracker and I remember fondly a performance of this Christmas ballet that I attended in my youth. So I was pleased and excited to be able to try out Tchaikovsky’s Nutrcracker:  The Music Game. This game is set against the backdrop of the wonderful music of The Nutcracker. The objective of the game is to save The Nutcracker. In order to do this, the player has to get nine magical keys in different games and activities. The activities educate children about the music of this fabulous ballet in such a way that children don’t feel like they are learning.

In my favorite game, all the instruments of the orchestra are displayed. Snippets of music are played, and the child guesses which instrument is making the sound. From tuba to flute, all the orchestral instruments are represented. After the child correctly guesses all the instruments, the orchestra plays a piece of music from The Nutcracker. I thought it was a fantastic way to teach children about different types of musical instruments and sounds.

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker: The Music Game is a fun, interesting and lively way to introduce your child to the music of this famous ballet. The activities are fun, and the learning happens without the child even noticing. The graphics on this game are somewhat simplistic, but it is truly the music which is the star of the show. I would highly recommend this game for children 7-10 years old as a way to introduce them to The Nutcracker, if they are not already familiar with it. Perhaps this game can be a jumping off point to fuel your child’s love of classical music. Or perhaps it helps to start a new holiday tradition, one which includes attending a live performance of The Nutcracker. Holiday magic, indeed!

Just in time for the holidays, you can get a copy of this game for your child, at a 40% discount! Click here for more information.

Good news! Just in time for the holidays, I have one copy of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker: The Music Game to give away.

Dog Trots Globe: To Paris and Provence (Review/Giveaway) (Can/US 11/12)

Cover Image: Dog Trots Globe

As a book lover and dog owner, I was thrilled to be able to review a book filled with wonderful photographs, and written from the perspective of a dog. Yes, that’s right, a dog, an adorable Sheltie named Chula. Dog Trots Globe is the story of Chula (and his owner’s) trip to France, as written from the view of the pooch.

Dog Trots Globe chronicles Chula’s trip starting from the plane ride in California, to France, and back again. The books is filled with 150 beautiful color photographs of everything from the Eiffel Tower at night to the beautiful lavender fields of Provence. Also, if you love dogs, you’ll love all the photographs of Chula (so sweet!) and all the canine friends he meets in his travels.

This was a wonderful read, for both children and adults. My kids were a bit young for the book, but I imagine it would be a fantastic read for kids in the 9-10 year old range. The conversational tone of the book and the luscious photographs make it a joy to read. Even as an adult, I was absolutely charmed by the book, and will certainly read it again as I dream of someday (hopefully!) travelling to France.

So where can you find Dog Trots Globe? You can purchase the hard cover on the book’s website or the e-book from Amazon, iTunes, and Barnes & Noble. If you purchase the e-book, you get four bonus videos and other online extras. Chula also has her own Facebook page, which you can check out.

Now it’s time for a giveaway! One lucky winner will win a hardcover copy of Dog Trots Globe: To Paris and Provence!
