ABC Photo Share Friday: F is for Flowers

F is for Flower

F is for Flower

I am a flower lover, we have lots of blooms in our garden. We are by no means very effective gardeners, but we do enjoy the flowers we have. You will often see me crouching on the ground with my camera or cell phone takingĀ  pictures of a flower in full bloom.

Last year we bought a bunch of perennials, annuals and a rosebush. For some reason, we bought this rosebush, got distracted by other things, and then let the poor thing shrivel up. I thought it was dead. We never even got the chance to transplant it! I felt horrible about it. My husband decided to try and salvage it, so we transplanted it into our garden and let nature take its course. We didn’t give the rosebush any special attention, as we were pretty sure it was dead anyway.

Well, nature took over, and lo and behold, the little rosebush came back to life. The leaves turned from brown to green, with nothing but rainwater, and very poor clay-type soil as nourishment. We got one beautiful rose last summer, which I captured in this photograph. Nature’s little miracle!

  3. The power of nature! How wonderful that you got this picture.

  4. Lovely! I love how it revived on it’s own, somewhat miraculously. And I love the photo, with the vibrant flower contrasting with the dry cracked earth.

  5. Mommy Outside says:

I always find it pretty amazing too when a plant I’ve neglected to care for just comes back to life once it’s been put in the ground :)

  6. Hey, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues.

When I look at your website in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet
Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Other then that, great blog!
